The "Find It" link didn't work for me. What happened?

Answer

There are several reasons why the "Find It" link may not have worked:

  • Sometimes, the publisher of a journal places an "embargo" on the full-text of the journal.  This simply means that there is a slight delay, usually between six months and one year, before the current full-text is available.  In such cases, you can use the FVSU Interlibrary Loan link to request the article from another library. Sometimes the article citation appears in a database before the publisher has made the full text available.
  • It is possible that the citation appears in the database before the publisher has made the full-text available.  Again, if you need the full-text quickly, use the FVSU Interlibrary Loan link to request the article from another library.
  • OpenURL, the technology behind "Find It", uses the citation information (volume, issue, and page number) to attempt to link directly to the article or journal. If there is a typographical error in the citation, "Find It" cannot find the article/journal.
  • If you experience difficulty locating the full-text of an article or other online resource, feel free call the library at 478-825-6753 or use our Ask-A-Librarian service for assistance.
